Green March 2.0: when moroccan youth reimagine the spirit of the Green March

15 november 2025

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, our association EPIK Leaders is launching Green March 2.0 a civic and ecological initiative that reimagines one of the strongest symbols of national unity, while infusing it with the energy, creativity, and commitment of today’s youth.

Driven by a new generation of leaders, this journey embodies both the memory of a united Morocco and the momentum of a nation firmly oriented toward a sustainable, innovative, and inclusive future.

A symbolic itinerary across six cities of the Kingdom

From Tangier to Laâyoune, EPIK Leaders’ young participants traveled more than 2,000 km in hybrid and electric vehicles to commemorate this historic milestone and reinterpret its spirit through a modern, responsible approach.

Each stop featured an interactive talk show, organized in partnership with local EPIK Leaders members, creating spaces for dialogue around Morocco’s progress since 1975, evolving public policies, and the opportunities now opening up for the new generation.

The six inspiring stages of Green March 2.0:

  • Tangier – November 3: The Call of the North – Roots & Vision
  • Rabat – November 4: Youth & Nation – Policies in Motion
  • Casablanca – November 5: Start & Green – The Momentum of Innovation
  • Marrakech – November 6: Tourism, Innovation & Sustainability
  • Agadir – November 7: Agadir 2.0 – Smart City, Connected Citizens
  • Laâyoune – November 8: Southern Horizon – Leadership & Unity
  • Dakhla – November 15: Closing of Green March 2.0

A collective adventure driven by action and leadership

More than a simple journey, Green March 2.0 was a true field immersion where EPIK Leaders’ values came to life:

  • learning by doing,
  • hands-on action,
  • teamwork,
  • and committed leadership.

At every stop:

  • bold partnerships were forged,
  • participants explored the richness of the regions and the warmth of local communities,
  • and youth mobilization for innovation and sustainability took center stage — symbolized by SOUEAST Morocco, the official hybrid vehicle of the march and a source of national pride.

An initiative with purpose and impact

Green March 2.0 reflects EPIK Leaders’ ambition to:

  • celebrate national memory through a contemporary lens;
  • promote sustainable mobility;
  • strengthen intergenerational connections between past actors and today’s emerging leaders;
  • highlight youth as a driving force for innovation and transformation;
  • reaffirm Morocco’s image as a nation committed to sustainability, solidarity, and innovation.

Green March 2.0: when visions become reality

This project demonstrates that with youth engagement, ideas take shape, initiatives generate impact, and a new momentum emerges for a bold, sustainable, and forward-looking Morocco.
